In these strang times

'Curious gardener' John Tradescant the elder (1570s–1638) made it his business to collect 'all things strang and rare' on his travels to procure botanical rarities for his employers. He and John the younger cultivated a flourishing cabinet of curiosities known as The Ark, which now makes up part of the collection of the Ashmolean Museum. As a blog about capturing details and perspectives and interesting bits of things that catch my fancy, Strang and Rare is a wunderkammer for fellow 'curious gardeners' of the everyday.
